World Architecture News is thrilled to announce the launch of three brand-new Awards schemes; the WAN Awards EMEA, the WAN Awards Americas and the WAN Awards APAC. These brand new Awards aim to recognise and celebrate excellent architecture within their geographical regions.

The WAN Regional Awards are designed to offer an opportunity for the foremost talent in each region to gain well-deserved recognition for their best work. These Awards will shine a light on the outstanding projects of innovative, visionary and imaginative architects and their peers.

For recent projects completed between 1 January 2018 and 1 January 2023

Residential

Showcasing new-build or substantially renovated or expanded residential projects, from one-off houses to apartment buildings. Includes affordable housing and co-living/co-working schemes.

Commercial

Celebrating new-build and renovated workplaces, offices, studios, research buildings and shops of all kinds as well as schemes in the hospitality sector such as hotels, restaurants and bars.  

Publicly accessible

This broad ranging category encompasses any building or structure that offers a significant public-facing facility or service, from transport hubs to sport stadia to bridges. Highlighting new-build or substantially renovated or expanded buildings that are accessible to the public, including community and council buildings, libraries, sports and leisure facilities. The category also includes cultural projects such as theatres, cinemas, museums, art galleries and music venues.

Institutions

Shining a spotlight on educational establishments, from nurseries and preschools, up to secondary schools and higher education buildings as well as medical institutions including hospitals, clinics and assisted living facilities.

Infrastructure

From underground, rail or bus stations to bridges and buildings constructed to deliver public utilities, this big-hitting category highlights new-build or substantially renovated or expanded buildings.

WAN REGIONAL JUDGES 


The WAN Regional Awards matter because they are judged by the toughest critics, your peers. Our expert judging panels will consist of numerous industry professionals representing the full breadth of the architectual industry. The judges are selected based on their expertise, experience and integrity and we pride ourselves on our rigorous and objective judging process.

Nominations to get involved are welcome from across the sectors, either for yourself or a colleague using the link below. The final judging panel will be comprised of an inclusive range of individuals to fully represent the industry.
