V. Schweitzer is founder of the eponymous Valerie Schweitzer Architects, based in New York City and Los Angeles. Her residential multifamily work, imaginative homes and pavilions have been featured in various publications including the New York Times and the Architect's Newspaper. Schweitzer studied architecture and philosophy at Princeton, where she recived multiple awards, followed by a Masters of Architecture at UCLA. Her designs always aim to deepen a sense of place, often by playing with vernacular and juxtaposing contemporary forms with ancient precedents. She has won many international awards from platforms such as the German Design  Council, Grand Prix Du Design, Architizer and Architecture Masterprize, where she was formerly the head juror.
