Yasmin Shariff

Yasmin Shariff was born in Uganda, raised in Kenya and has lived in the UK after graduating from the Architectural Association, Bartlett School of Architecture and the School of Oriental and African Studies. Yasmin is a registered chartered architect and director of Dennis Sharp Architects. She has won several awards for her eco and heritage design work including an EU Thermie Award researching sustainable exemplars in the EU.  As Head of Design for an academy sponsor, she was responsible for 14 new school building projects. She has contributed to the work of UK government's Innovate UK and Building Futures initiatives and appointed non-executive director of the East of England Development Agency.  Yasmin was Senior lecturer at the University of Westminster for over 15 years and external examiner at several UK Universities. She was elected to Chair the RIBA's Eastern Region and serve as a trustee and Hon Secretary of the RIBA and the Architectural Association.
